A project of Groundings Poetry Collective, based in Tkaronto (Toronto) Ontario, Canada. We are interested in building arts ecologies that support and lift up the work of BIPOC (black, indigenous, persons of colour) artists. In our room you will find spoken word, dub, reggae, singer songwriters, storytellers, the hard truths about our times, and the joy of connection and community. To be eligible to perform in our room, we are looking for spoken word artists, storytellers, and/or musicians who are: - Black, or indigenous, or persons of colour Or - LBGTQ2+ AND - Perform content that is socially progressive, has to do with the times We are prioritizing BIPOC artists, and Canadian artists. In 2018 we released our first full-length album, Stardust Lodge, and have spent 2018/2019 touring in support of the record in the Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest US. A native of Missouri living in Colorado, she captures a Midwestern country sound combined with a Rocky Mountain Americana feel in her work.
