Finest Folk is a showcase presented by Folk Alliance International at various industry events (including SXSW and AMERICANAFEST), and also at the First Fridays series that we host once a month at our office in Kansas City.

Finest Folk First Fridays

Finest Folk First Fridays is a “listening-room” concert series presenting a diverse selection of the finest in local and regional folk music, free and open to the public. The series is located at our new office in the Crossroads Arts District of Kansas City, and is built with the intention to uplift folk music in KC while creating a cultural link between the Crossroads and Westside neighborhoods.

Past artists include John Keck, Enrique Chi of Making Movies, and Rural Grit Happy Hour with Danny Cox.

If you are an artist interested in performing, please fill out an application here. We offer a “small concert” honorarium, meal costs, and a travel stipend for out-of-town artists.
