The Acoustic Café Music Series will present the last show of the series, a WhyHunger Hungerthon Benefit featuring critically acclaimed singer/songwriters Willie Nile, Marshall Crenshaw and Joe D’Urso. Special opening set by Sarah Chesler, Christopher Brown & Isabella Englert.

WhyHunger, the organization founded in 1975 by the late singer/songwriter Harry Chapin, enlists performing artists to raise funds and awareness for the most innovative and effective community-based organizations fighting hunger and poverty all across the world. Through music we can all make a difference in the world!

The NY Times called Buffalo, NY born Willie Nile "one of the most gifted singer-songwriters to emerge from the New York scene in years." Uncut Magazine called him “A one-man Clash.” His albums have appeared on Best Lists everywhere. Wllie has toured across the U.S. with The Who and has sung with Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band. Pete Townshend, Bono, Lou Reed & Lucinda Williams are among those who have sung his praises. His latest,,critically acclaimed album is World War Willie.

Over the course of a recording career that’s spanned three decades, 13 albums and hundreds of songs, Michigan-bred Marshall Crenshaw’s musical output has maintained a consistently high level of artistry, craftsmanship and passion, endearing him to a broad and loyal fan base. His songs were featured on several film soundtracks and covered by such diverse artists as Robert Gordon, Bette Midler and the Gin Blossoms. Crenshaw is a true rock & roll Renaissance man.

Park Ridge resident Joe D’Urso's fierce independence, dynamic stage presence and altruistic nature have led him down a road less traveled, being on the Board of Directors for Why Hunger and The Light of Day Foundation and presenter of the Rockland/Bergen Music Festival. With his roots/rock band, Stone Caravan, Joe has released 13 CDs.

All proceeds will benefit WhyHunger & the OLM Haiti Scholarship Fund. Non-perishable food items will be collected at this show for the local food pantry.
