The Riverside Retreat has double occupancy rooms with plenty of space for lessons, jamming and relaxing. Meals are prepared by an on-site chef and served in a very nice dining room. They can handle vegetarian or other special meal requirements and there is a twenty-four hour hot and cold beverage bar. The facility is new, clean and completely air conditioned.

While we do have special guest instructors, the Maryland Folk Musicians Retreat does not have a set schedule. This is an informal gathering to share, learn and even just sit and play a few tunes by yourself in a beautiful setting.

The Maryland Folk Musicians Retreat is open to all instruments. Bring whatever you have and share your passion with fellow musicians. Pat and Patrick Costello will be teaching banjo and guitar. Brian Carver, builder of Somerset Banjos, will host a workshop where you can assemble your own kit banjo. David Finch, star of Woody Sez – The Life and Music of Woody Guthrie, will be sharing his outstanding fiddle skills and much more. Remember that this event is all about sharing. If you have something to share please let us know. We will work with you.

Registration for the Maryland Folk Musicians Retreat is $375.00 per person, double occupancy. All meals and linens are included.

There is an additional $100 fee to take part in Brian Carver’s DIY Banjo Kit Workshop. This covers the cost of parts and materials. You will take home your banjo on Sunday morning.
